Join the fun and help to prepare and decorate some of the meaningful floats including the only Christian theme float in the Rose Parade.

Invites you to join this fun-filled week of unique activities, events and help to support and make possible the only Christian theme float in the Rose Parade. 2027 marks Lutheran Hour Ministries celebrating 76-years of witnessing the gospel message in the Rose Parade.
Enjoy 2-full days of float decorating and learning how the many beautiful and meaningful floats are designed, constructed and decorated.
While visiting Southen California you will learn more about the fascinating historical and cultural side of Southern California- from the early 1800's Mission San Juan Capistrano to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library Museum. Experience the legacy of Ronald Reagan, board his Air Force One, visit the Oval Office and learn more about the life of a president. Our group will spend 2- full days preparing and decorating the many meaningful floats including the only Christian-themed float in the parade. We will ring in the New Year with a sparkling wine or cider toast and a festive New Year's Eve dinner celebration. Then on January 1st, we share an unforgettable day as we cheer from our reserved grandstand seats along Colorado Blvd. and watch the Lutheran Hour Ministries float in the 2027 Rose Parade. Following the Rose Parade, we will view the floats again up close at 2027 Float Fest; where you will walk within feet of the floral and animated masterpieces parked along 2 miles of city streets.
Due to insurance regulations and safety concerns Petal Pushers must be at least 13 years old to decorate if not accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Itinerary
DEC. 28 ARRIVE IN CALIFORNIA (D)
Upon arrival in Southern California you will transfer to the hotel via taxi, shuttle, UBER or LYFT-all available from the Southern California airports.
Welcome to sunny California “The Golden State”. This afternoon, stop by and visit our LutherTours Hospitality desk located in the lobby of your hotel. Time to be advised.
This evening our group will meet for our “welcome to California” dinner approx. 6:00PM.
DEC. 29 FLOAT DECORATING DAY (B, L)
Early morning departure for a day of “pushing petals” and float decorating in the exciting final stages of preparing the floats for the Rose Parade. Pizza lunch provided at decorating pavilion.
This is the 76th year that the Southern California District of the International Lutheran Laymen’s League has been invited to enter a float. As “Petal Pushers” we have the honor of preparing and decorating many meaningful floats in the parade. After our day of decorating, the group will return to the hotel.
This evening is at leisure to enjoy dinner on your own or with some of your new friends.
DEC. 30 FLOAT DECORATING DAY (B, L)
Early morning departure for a day of “pushing petals” and float decorating.
Lunch provided at decorating pavilion. After our day of decorating, our group will gather together at the LHM float for a group photo before we return to the hotel.
What a glorious day, knowing that we had a part in proclaiming Christ and glorifying God.
This evening is at leisure to enjoy dinner on your own or with some of your new friends.
DEC 31
MISSION SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO/ NEW YEARS EVE DINNER CELEBRATION (B, D)
Today we visit the Mission San Juan Capistrano including a private guided tour to learn more about the fascinating history of the mission and this historic city. Time for shopping and lunch before our group returns to the hotel.
If weather permits, group will visit the coastal town of Laguna Beach, enjoy lunch at one of the many restaurants or café’s, shop, relax or stroll along the ocean front promenade of this beautiful village.
This evening, we meet to ring in an “East Coast” New Year at our New Year’s Eve dinner celebration.
JAN 01 138th ROSE PARADE titled, “Welcome” (B, L)
The event we came to see is about to begin. Our seats have been reserved along Colorado Boulevard. What an opportunity to see first-hand the animation, the imagination and grandeur, along with the precision and music of the marching bands and the equestrian groups and drum majors strutting.
As the beautifully decorated Lutheran Hour float passes by we’ll jump to our feet and applaud, knowing that we have, in our own way, helped make it happen.
After the parade our group will have lunch and then we will continue to view the floats up close at the 2027 FLOAT FEST. You will walk within feet of the floral and animated masterpieces parked along 2 miles of city streets. Later the group will return to the hotel.
Experience the Legacy of Ronald Reagan
JAN 02 RONALD REAGAN PRESIDENTIAL LIBRARY (B)
This morning our group is joined by our local tour guide who will share with us the fascinating history of Southern California. Visit the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. Experience the legacy of Ronald Reagan, board his Air Force One, visit the Oval Office and learn more about the life of a president.
Time at leisure for lunch on your own and to revisit some of the exhibits at the museum. Afterwards, group returns to the hotel for the evening. Dinner on your own at the hotel restaurant or one of the restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.
JAN 03 DEPARTURE DAY
What a way to begin the New Year! Today, we bid farewell to our new friends and take home the lasting memories of our week of “once in a lifetime” experiences and Christian fellowship.
