Learn more about Ancient Greece and Early Christianity as you embark on a 4-Night Antiquities of Greece land tour and 4-Night Greek Island and ancient Ephesus, Turkey Mediterranean cruise.

Each year TSCS and LutherTours custom-design a unique travel itinerary filled with exciting activities, fascinating special events and educational sightseeing. Your TSCS staff and administration will accompany the group, providing chaperones and qualified adult supervision for students from the day of departure until the return flight home. ITINERARY

Day 1, May 24 Depart USA to Athens, Greece

Day 2, May 25 Arrival Athens (D)

Upon arrival at Athens airport, you will collect your checked luggage, complete the immigrations and passport check, and be met by our professional tour manager who will be waiting and accompany the group throughout the Greece land tour. We begin our journey in Athens to see the important and historical sites of the city including, Mars Hill where St. Paul preached, the Areopagus, the Academy, Greek Parliament, National Library, the Panathenaic Stadium, the Royal Palace and visit to the Temple of Zeus. Afterwards, the group will check in to the hotel, have time to refresh before our welcome to Greece dinner. Overnight Athens

Day 3, May 26 Athens (B, D)

Today the group will visit the ancient Acropolis archaeological site located atop a hill in the city of Athens and the Acropolis Museum to view the centuries old artifacts found only at the Acropolis. Afterwards we visit the picturesque Plaka and Monasteraki district, nestled among the slopes of the Acropolis. In the shadow of the ancient temples, stroll through the labyrinth of cobblestone streets admiring the neoclassical architecture that gives this “Neighborhood of the Gods” its extraordinary character. View the iconic landmarks including the ruins of Hadrian’s Library, the Ancient Agora. This afternoon is at leisure to stroll the lively squares filled with open-air markets, a variety of boutiques, antique shops, souvenir shops, restaurants and cafés that are enjoyable to both visitors and locals. Day 4, May 27 4-Night Celestyal Cruises, Mykonos (B, L, D)

This morning we transfer to the port of Athens to board the Olympia cruise ship for our 4-night Greek Island cruise. Ship sails at 1:00PM. This afternoon arrive to the mountainous island of Mykonos. You may disembark the ship for some beach time, explore the island on your own, or purchase a shore excursion offered by Celestyal Cruise. Return to the ship for dinner and evening entertainment. Day 5, May 28 Ephesus Turkey, Patmos, 2- Shore Excursions Included (B, L, D)

Today the group will visit the Ancient Ruins of Ephesus, whose inhabitants were the recipients of Apostle Paul’s famous epistle (Acts 18:19-26). Ephesus is one of the largest, most fascinating and most inspiring open-air archaeological museums in the world. Here you will see the Odeon (concert hall), the Fountain of Trajan, the steam-heated Baths of Scolastika, the Temple of Hadrian and the Latrians, the Library of Celsus and The Great Theatre where St. Paul preached. This theater is the largest theatre in antiquity having a capacity of 24,000 people. In addtion, the group will visit the House of the Virgin Mary, known to be the home where Mary spent her final years. This afternoon the ship sets sail to the Greek island of Patmos. The group will visit the Monastery of St. John and the Cave of the Apocalypse, where John the Evangelist wrote the Book of the Revelation during his exile (Rev. 1:9-11). Overnight ship

Day 6, May 29 Rhodes (B, L, D)

We will spend the day on the tranquil island of Rhodes. You may disembark the ship to explore the island on your own or purchase an optional shore excursion offered by Celestyal Cruise. Overnight ship

Day 07, May 30 Heraklion (Crete) and Santorini (B, L, D)

The ship arrives at the island of Crete where Paul arrived as a prisoner on his way to Rome and the final chapter of his life. Paul revisited the island of Crete before his death, placing Titus in charge of the church he founded. This afternoon set sail to the famous volcanic island of Santorini. Optional shore excursions available to purchase onboard. Return to the ship for dinner before sailing to Athens. Overnight ship

Day 8, May 31 Delphi Archeological Museum (B, D)

After breakfast, the group will disembark the ship and our professional tour manager will be waiting for you at the pier. You will board our private motorcoach and depart for a visit to Delphi, the ancient sanctuary of Apollo, to learn more about Greek religious heritage and its influence on the early Christian years. Delphi was regarded as the center of the world, the omphalos (navel), and the most important cultural and religion center of old times. You will visit the Delphi Archeological museum, Temple of Apollo, Athenian Treasury, Theater and Stadium, the Castalian Fountain, and the Tholos of Athena Pronaia. Afterwards we return to Athens for the next 2-nights. Overnight Athens

Day 09, June 01 Corinth, Mycenae (B, D)

Today we visit Corinth where Paul stayed for one and a half years, established a thriving church, and wrote 2 of the epistles. Along the way, visit the beach of Kinetta, and a brief stop at the amazing Corinth Canal. From there we travel on to ancient Corinth. Visit the Museum, the Bema where “Paul gave his whole time to preaching the message...” (Act 18:5), the Temple of Apollo, the Asklepion and the Agora, and we see the port of Cenchreae where Paul sailed to reach Ephesus. Next, we visit Mycenae and the Mycenaean Civilization Center. Here we view the Lion’s Gate, the Subterranean Cistern, the Tomb of Agamemnon and part of the Cyclopean Walls that surrounded and protected the old city. The group will return to Athens. This evening our group gathers for a fun farewell dinner at one of the local restaurants. Overnight Athens

Day 10, June 02 Tour Ends (B)

The group will transfer from the hotel to Athen airport for departure.

All travelers must travel with a valid passport, valid for at least 6-months beyond the return travel date and the new ETIAS Europe Visa required from January 2024.
